Turnout at Serbia's snap parliamentary elections reached 12 percent by 9:00 a.m., according to the first estimate from IPSOS and CESID based on 94 percent of the processed sample.

Early-morning lines in major cities

The figure marks a clear rise compared with the last parliamentary vote in 2023, when 5.3 percent of registered voters had cast their ballots by 9:00 a.m. The total turnout at the 2023 election was 58.77 percent.

Today, 6,450,523 people are registered to vote in Serbia. Voting is taking place at 8,392 polling stations across the country and abroad, and both domestic and international observers are present.

Long queues formed at polling sites in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Niš from the early hours. In Novi Sad people began gathering around 5:00 a.m., two hours before polling stations opened. In Niš — where 227,546 voters are registered — lines appeared before the opening of the 198 polling places.

Authorities and monitoring organisations will continue to release turnout updates during the day. The stronger early turnout could reflect heightened mobilisation compared with 2023, but final conclusions will depend on turnout patterns later in the day and on official results.
