Israeli army opens criminal probes into death of 5-year-old Hind Rajab in Gaza
The army says five deadly incidents in Gaza are under review, including the case of the five‑year‑old who died after her family's car was hit.

The Israeli military said it has opened criminal investigations into the death of 5-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab, who died after her family’s car came under Israeli fire in the Gaza Strip, and into the deaths of medical personnel during the war in Gaza.
In a statement released today the army said it was reviewing a total of five deadly incidents in the Gaza Strip. The announcement names the killing of Hind Rajab among the cases under examination.
According to available reports, the five-year-old initially survived when the vehicle carrying her and relatives — who were fleeing the fighting — was struck by a missile. Audio recordings of a call to the Palestinian Red Crescent show that the child pleaded for help for hours before she died.
Scope and public reaction
Hind’s death has prompted international outrage and renewed scrutiny of civilian casualties in the conflict. The child’s story has also been the subject of an award-winning, Oscar-nominated film titled "The Voice of Hind Rajab."
The military statement did not provide a full list of the five incidents under review nor a timetable for the investigations. It said only that criminal inquiries had been opened and that military legal authorities would handle the probes.
The announcement comes as humanitarians and rights groups continue to document civilian harm in Gaza, while families search for answers about how members of the public, and in some cases medical staff, were killed during the campaign.
