Vesna Janevska: No corruption reports in education currently; will act according to law
Janevska spoke before the National Forum "Youth for Integrity" in Skopje and thanked Analitika and German partners for the project.

Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska told reporters that at the moment there are no reports of corruption in the education system, and that if any are filed they will be processed according to the law. Her statement came before the start of the National Forum "Youth for Integrity - from the voice of young people to institutional change," held today in Skopje.
Janevska expressed gratitude to Analitika for implementing the project with support from the German government and the German Embassy in the country, calling the initiative highly important for society and useful for raising awareness among young people in the fight against corruption.
Schools, Janevska said, are spaces for values
In her address she stressed that schools are not only places to gain knowledge and skills but also to build character and integrity.
"From the position of minister of education and science, I consider that schools are not just environments where knowledge, competencies and skills are acquired, but where a person is formed with integrity and a value system. Students in our country, besides through projects for the fight against corruption and the negative influences in society, learn through the subject - civic education. But such topics also appear in other subjects, which means that the knowledge they should acquire during the education process is represented. However, of course, such projects have an exceptional influence and help to develop awareness and to implement appropriate procedures in unwanted activities, let us say, in the educational system," Janevska said.
Organizers say the forum gathers students, teachers and civil society representatives to discuss anti-corruption education and institutional steps to strengthen integrity. Janevska's remarks framed the ministry's stance that preventive education and legal follow-up are complementary tools in addressing corrupt practices if they are detected.
