Former Ukrainian officer who switched to Russian side killed in Crimea by explosive

The man, identified only by the surname Shageev, served as deputy commander of the 4th Separate Submarine Brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet — a unit that has taken part in launches of Kalibr missiles toward Ukraine. He died when an explosive device detonated near him.
According to messages on a Telegram channel, a woman activated the device that had been hidden in a refuse container. "The man was walking down the street steps when an explosive device detonated nearby," the channel "Krimski veter" reported.
