Kire Naunovski: Family comes first — "Money is necessary, but not the most important"
The 2025 contest winner says his children and wife are his top priorities, and that money isn’t everything.

Kire Naunovski was the guest on the latest episode of the talk show hosted by Violeta P. Perić, where the folk singer spoke openly about his career, recent projects and the role his family plays in his life. After his 2025 victory — decided by Facebook voting in the final of the music competition Nikogash ne e docna — Naunovski has become a familiar face across the region.
From the contest to a music video with his wife
Naunovski recalled the moment of triumph and thanked the people who voted for him. "Nobody knew, I applied to 'Nikogash ne e docna' by myself," he said, and added that the win changed many things: today many people recognize him on the street and he welcomed that attention.
The singer also discussed his recent single and its video, "Dojdi mi mila vecherva," in which his wife Marija appears in the lead role. He revealed that the idea for her to be in the clip came from their son, a suggestion both parents liked.
Naunovski said that one of the reasons he auditioned for the show was the encouraging energy of Žika Jakšić. He described himself as naturally nervous and credited Jakšić with helping him relax while performing.
Family, he said, remains the central priority in his life. "My children are my hobby," Kire told the host, stressing how important home life is for him even as his public profile grows.
On his approach to parenting and values he said: "For me the most important thing is family. That's how I was raised… When you build the family, that's it — that is the most important thing: the children and the wife. Wherever you go, you must return home. Now, I don't know how others function, but for me that's the most important thing. When I go to work, wherever I am, the first thing I want to do is go home and see my children and my wife. I simply couldn't… maybe that's why I stayed withdrawn these years; I can't imagine being somewhere away while my family is not with me. Both the children and the wife."
He added: "So it's not all about money. Or at least that's how I've understood life — money is necessary, but it's not the most important. There are things that can't be bought with money. That's why I first raise my children to be decent people, to be cultured — in a word, to be people. That's the most important thing."
