Parliamentary committee forwards proposal to extend oil crisis period to April 20, 2027
The defence and security committee sent to the Assembly a draft to replace the current expiry date of the emergency measure on fuel supply.

The Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Security has forwarded to further parliamentary procedure a proposed decision to amend an existing measure that extends the period of a state of crisis over potential disruptions in the supply of oil and oil derivatives across the country.
At the committee’s session today, Minister Vlado Misajlovski presented the rationale for the change and answered questions from members.
What the amendment does
Misajlovski told the committee that the proposal only changes the expiry date of the current crisis measure. "In fact, with this decision the words 'until 20 October 2026' are replaced by the words 'until 20 April 2027'."
The committee agreed to send the draft decision on to the Assembly for the next steps in the legislative procedure. If adopted, the amendment will extend the official period during which special measures intended to prevent or mitigate fuel supply disruptions remain in force.
The move was presented as a precautionary step amid concerns about potential interruptions in deliveries of oil and oil derivatives to the entire territory of North Macedonia.
