Police charge Ministry of Finance employee in Struga over forged land-privatization decisions
Ohrid police filed charges against a 61-year-old A.M. accused of forging privatization decisions, stamping them as final and sending them to the Struga cadastre between 2022–2024.
Ohrid police (SVR Ohrid) have filed a criminal complaint against A.M., a 61-year-old resident of Struga, alleging he produced forged land-privatization rulings on behalf of other people between 2022 and 2024.
The complaint lists three criminal counts: "abuse of official position and authorization," "negligent performance of duty," and "forgery of an official document."

"The suspect, employed at the Ministry of Finance - Administration for Property Legal Affairs Struga, as an advisor and authorised signatory of acts, abusing his position and authority, during 2022, 2023 and 2024 produced false decisions for the privatization of land belonging to other persons, arbitrarily affixed the official seal to give them legal effect and sent them to the Cadastral Department of Real Estate Struga, but had not previously forwarded them to the competent institution for an opinion," the Ministry of Interior said.
According to the police filing, the alleged practice involved issuing documents that appeared to carry official validity and then transmitting them to the cadastral office in Struga. The indictment specifies that the procedural step of obtaining a prior opinion from the competent body was omitted.
The police action marks the start of formal criminal proceedings; investigators are expected to gather evidence and determine responsibility and potential penalties under the criminal code.
