Vodno telecom tower completed but still closed pending use permit
The Agency for Electronic Communications says the energy connection passed technical inspection on 7 October 2026; documentation and final acceptance still required.

The telecommunications tower on Vodno is structurally complete but remains closed because it has not yet received a use permit, the Agency for Electronic Communications has informed the public. Construction work is finished, and authorities say the remaining steps involve documentation and final technical acceptance of the facility.
On 7 October 2026 a technical inspection and acceptance of the tower's energy connection was carried out — one of the preconditions for moving forward with the formal procedure. Officials say that this milestone clears a key administrative hurdle but does not itself allow operation.
Next administrative stages before opening
The immediate next step is submission of “as-built” project documentation describing the executed condition of the tower. After that documentation is approved, a full technical inspection of the entire structure must take place before a use permit can be issued.
Authorities point to the prolonged timeline and repeated regulatory changes over more than a decade as factors that have complicated and delayed the process. No concrete date has been set for when the tower will be officially opened to the public or put into service.
Construction of the tower began in 2013. The structure reaches 155 metres in height and was designed primarily to host telecommunications equipment and radio-frequency control and monitoring systems. The project includes four platforms of roughly 180–200 square metres each, administrative spaces and a rotating panoramic restaurant with capacity for about 60 guests.
Once the use permit is granted the building will be entered into the public property registry and issued a property sheet. Only then will the Agency for Electronic Communications be able to activate the tower’s telecommunications and infrastructure capacities. The operator says public, tourist and hospitality facilities planned for the tower will be made available after the legal procedures are complete.
