Lila Filipovska: guest says he proposed in a field and didn’t tell her father

Well-known TV host Lila Filipovska recently presided over a light-hearted exchange that quickly became a favorite clip online after a studio guest described how he asked for his partner’s hand — and how he handled her father.

In the conversation the guest recalled approaching the woman’s family home to ask for her hand. He said he announced himself with the words, “I came to your place to ask for your hand,” and then learned that the parents were out in the field.

Proposal on a field

According to the guest, he had been dating the woman for six months when he went to her house. She told him, “They are not here, they are in the field,” so he immediately put his future wife in the car and drove to the field to find her family.

When he met the woman's father, the guest recalled telling him, “Grandpa, I came to propose,” and that the father replied, “How so, but you weren't lying, you said you were just friends?”

The guest then gave the most candid line of the segment: “Well, I was going to her, we were making love, but I didn't tell the father.” The remark drew laughter from the audience and the host alike.

Filipovska responded with a knowing laugh and the comment, “Of course you wouldn't tell him, that's none of his business. Not everyone has to know.” The brief exchange was later shared widely as a humorous clip.
