Hunter from Dolgash faces criminal charge after killing a stray dog
Debar police filed a criminal complaint after a 68-year-old shot at a group of stray dogs with a hunting rifle on May 29, 2026, killing one.

A 68-year-old hunter from the village of Dolgash in Centar Zhupa has been charged after shooting at a group of stray dogs and killing one of them, police said.
"OVR Debar filed a criminal complaint against F.I.(68) from the village of Dolgash, Centar Zhupa municipality, on grounds of suspicion for committing the criminal offence 'animal cruelty', the police said."
The incident occurred on May 29, 2026 at 18:30, when the man opened fire with a hunting rifle at several stray dogs in the settlement. One animal was fatally injured.
Authorities say the Regional Police Department in Debar submitted the criminal charge after establishing grounds for suspicion of the offence. The suspect is expected to face prosecution under the provision for animal cruelty.
