Maksimov’s debut: assist and goal give Bregalnica 2:0 lead at halftime
Debutant Metodi Maksimov supplied an assist and a goal to give Bregalnica a 2:0 halftime lead in Shtip.
Metodi Maksimov made an immediate impact in his Bregalnica debut on August 8, 2026, helping the home side to a 2:0 lead at halftime against Arsimi in the second round of the Macedonian First Football League (PMFL).
In the 10th minute Maksimov set up Martin Stojanov with a precise pass that opened the scoring and put Bregalnica ahead. The move combined quick interplay in the final third and left the visiting defence exposed.
Later, in the 28th minute, Maksimov himself found the net to double the advantage and complete a memorable first 45 minutes for the new signing. The goal settled the match and gave Bregalnica a comfortable cushion going into the break.
Control and chances
Bregalnica threatened on several other occasions during the first half and looked the more dangerous team overall. Arsimi came closest to reducing the deficit when Ramadani had a big opportunity in the 15th minute, but the equaliser did not come.
Before joining Bregalnica, Maksimov played for Rabotnicki and Shkendija and also has experience abroad, a background that showed in his composed debut performance.
The match resumed with Bregalnica in the lead and confidence; the second half will decide whether Arsimi can respond or whether Maksimov’s early influence will steer his new club to a full three points.
