Marija Luisa fans herself with tip banknotes during Bitola performance

Marija Todorovska, known by her stage name Marija Luisa, drew attention again with a dramatic moment during a recent performance in Bitola. The Macedonian folk singer — often associated with generous tipping at live shows — turned one set into a vivid spectacle that guests captured on their phones.

Onstage she appeared in a provocative black outfit and kept up the high-energy delivery that characterises her shows. At one point she held a large stack of banknotes in one hand and the microphone in the other, using the bills like a makeshift fan while she danced.

Audience reaction and social posts

Reactions in the venue varied: some listeners reacted with surprise and disbelief, while others immediately raised their phones to record the scene. Several short videos and photos from that moment were later posted to Marija Luisa’s Instagram account.

The gesture — a literal display of the tips she received — added a theatrical flourish to the performance and quickly became the centrepiece of online chatter about the night. Observers highlighted both the showmanship and the provocative nature of her movements.

Marija Luisa has previously attracted attention for similar onstage moments, and this latest clip is likely to continue the conversation among fans and critics alike.
