Man injures three neighbors with knife in Skopje after property dispute
Police say a 44-year-old was detained on Sept. 23; three people were wounded and investigators continue to document the case.
A 44-year-old man wounded three neighbors with a knife in Skopje after a dispute over property rights, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said, without revealing the exact location of the incident.
The attack left a man and two women injured: the neighbor who had been involved in the dispute, his wife, and another neighbor who tried to intervene. Police said they are investigating the circumstances and will file charges after the case is fully documented.
Arrest and police statement
“On 23.09.2026 at 23:15 hours, police officers from SVR Skopje deprived of liberty J.J. (44) from Skopje. According to the report, after a prior argument, due to unresolved property-legal relations, in the home of his neighbor A.Sh. (38) from Skopje, with a sharp object he attacked and inflicted injuries to A.Sh., his wife Gj.U. and neighbor D.D., who tried to separate them. In connection with the incident, A.Sh. was also detained and an official interview was conducted with him. After full documentation of the event appropriate charges will be filed,” the police statement reads.
Authorities did not disclose where in Skopje the stabbing took place. Emergency services treated the wounded at the scene before they were taken to hospital; police have not published details about the victims’ medical condition.
Investigators from the Skopje police directorate are continuing inquiries, collecting evidence and hearing witnesses to clarify the motive and sequence of events that led to the attack.
No court filings or formal charges had been announced at the time of the police bulletin; officials said further procedural steps will follow once documentation is complete.
