Police report and circumstances
Police said that on October 23, 2026 at about 22:00 the Regional Police Directorate SVR Skopje received a report that a passenger Volvo with Gostivar registration plates, driven by 36-year-old Dž.D. from Gostivar, had struck a wild bear on the Skopje–Tetovo motorway.
The animal's death was confirmed by a veterinarian from the Skopje Zoo.
An investigative team from SVR Skopje carried out an on-site inspection of the scene.
Authorities registered the incident and documented the scene as part of routine procedures following road collisions with wildlife.
