Medical Faculty in Skopje: recruitment process was objective; selected candidates ranked higher than Dr. Darko Vasilevski
The faculty says public call 01/2026 for 4 (four) doctors followed legal procedures and that Dr. Darko Vasilevski was notified of the outcome.

The Medical Faculty in Skopje issued a statement saying that, to date, the faculty has not received notification from any competent institution that Dr. Darko Vasilevski has officially appealed the public job announcement referenced in the statement.
The announcement refers to the public call 01/2026 at the Medical Faculty within Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje for the establishment of employment for 4 (four) doctors of medicine, of which 2 (two) posts were for the Institute for Medical and Experimental Physiology with Anthropology.
How the recruitment was conducted
The faculty says the hiring procedures for medical doctors were carried out in accordance with the Law on Higher Education, the Law on Employees in the Public Sector and the Labour Relations Law. A Selection Commission of three senior professors — who also head the faculty's institutes where the positions were opened — ran the process.
The commission reviewed the submitted documents from a total of seven candidates who applied for the posts, including the application of Dr. Darko Vasilevski, and found the applications to be in order. All applicants were interviewed.
After the interviews the Selection Commission proposed two candidates who satisfy the general and special conditions for employment. The faculty stated the recruitment process was objective and transparent and that at no stage was Dr. Darko Vasilevski placed at a disadvantage compared with other candidates. It added that the chosen candidates were far better ranked on the basis of formal education and the interview results.
Dr. Darko Vasilevski has been formally notified of the outcome and of which candidates were selected for employment. The faculty noted that if he believes any procedural right has been denied, he may pursue remedies before the competent institutions. To date, the faculty has not received any notification that the candidate has officially lodged an appeal related to the announcement, nor any notification of a complaint submitted to the Commission for Prevention and Protection from Discrimination; should such a complaint arrive within the legally prescribed deadline, the faculty said it will respond.
The faculty's statement was published amid separate reports that a medical specialist began a hunger strike after being rejected in several employment calls.
