Anes Melici named player of the round after Shkendija’s 2-0 win in Kratovo
Anes Melici scored and anchored the defence as Shkendija won 0:2 in Kratovo and supplied several players to the round’s best eleven.
Shkendija confirmed their strong start to the season with a 2-0 victory at Sileks in Kratovo in the fifth round of the Macedonian First League. The win kept the Tetovo side at the top of the table and came after another solid defensive showing.
Melici the decisive figure
Defender Anes Melici produced one of the defining moments of the match when he scored to open the scoring, turning a tight derby into a more comfortable game for his team. His performance in defence and the contribution going forward underlined why he is being talked about as one of the best young centre-backs in the league.
The round’s ideal eleven included several Shkendija teammates alongside Melici: Ferat Ramani, Jovan Manev, Arbin Zejnullai and Fahd Ndzengue.
