Mediterranean Games 2026 — silver for Vejseli, bronze for Magomedov

North Macedonia added two wrestling medals on 24.08.2026 at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto: a silver and a bronze, but no gold so far.
In the 74 kg final, Fati Vejseli fell short of the top step, losing the gold-medal bout to Islam Dudaev of Albania by a 0:4 score.
Bronze for Ahmad Magomedov
Ahmad Magomedov secured a bronze medal after dominating his match for third place, defeating Gabrielen Nicoloni 10:0 by technical fall.
The North Macedonian contingent expects at least one more silver: Redzep Hajdari is scheduled to fight in a gold-medal match later in the wrestling program in Taranto, which would guarantee another podium place for the team.
For now, the delegation leaves the mat without a gold medal, while coaches and athletes prepare for the remaining bouts with the aim of converting opportunities into higher finishes.
