Mickoski: Gerresheimer plans expansion in North Macedonia, more plants expected
Mickoski says Gerresheimer would raise staff from about 300 to 500 and that three further plants could open in December, creating over 1,000 well‑paid jobs.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said in a video address from Düsseldorf that the German packaging company Gerresheimer intends to expand its operations in North Macedonia, increasing the workforce at its local site from about 300 to roughly 500 people.
Three additional plants and a bilateral push
Speaking after meetings with the minister-president of North Rhine-Westphalia and a number of German firms, Mickoski highlighted Gerresheimer as one of the companies that has already invested in the country and is planning a sizeable follow-on project.
In his address Mickoski said: "Among them I would single out the meeting with the company 'Gerresheimer', which has already carried out two investments. The total investment value is about 120 million euros, and the number of employees is about 300 people. But what is more important is their ambition for a new, additional investment of 100,000 square metres, where they will increase the number of employees to 500 and practically triple the turnover of their business here, thereby making a positive contribution and adding value to the Macedonian GDP. Also, I want to announce, if everything goes as it should, in December three new production capacities, which when they reach their investment peak and full capacity, will open more than 1,000, which is even more important, well-paid jobs."
Mickoski described the meeting with the North Rhine-Westphalia leader as "extremely useful and fruitful", and stressed that the province is a major economic partner with about 18 million inhabitants and a nominal GDP he cited as over 20?900 billion euros in 2025 (as he stated), comparing it with North Macedonia's economy.
He added that he invited the minister-president to visit North Macedonia next year after the regional elections in North Rhine-Westphalia, which are scheduled for April, to discuss deeper bilateral economic cooperation. Mickoski closed his video message by saying they are "fighting for Macedonia in Germany" and that he will soon return to Skopje.
