Bojan Miovski: The whole team must function to score after 0–2 home loss to Scotland

North Macedonia suffered a 0–2 home defeat to Scotland on 3 October 2026, extending a run of matches without goals and increasing frustration around the national team’s form.

Post-match reaction

Forward Bojan Miovski spoke to reporters after the game, reflecting on what went wrong and what the team must change. He singled out an early concession and a failure to control possession as decisive factors.

“We conceded a very early goal; that affected us badly. We should have kept possession more, but we fell into their game. Scotland are a team that runs a lot. In the second half whether it was a penalty or not, I don't know. After that goal we pressed to score. I think we need to play more offensively and be more relaxed in that third zone, to play forward. To score a goal the whole team must function, to defend your own and then score. All of us together carry that responsibility.”

Miovski stressed the need for a collective response rather than individual heroics, saying the squad must improve its movement and decision‑making in the attacking third if it is to break the current goal drought.

The defeat leaves questions for the coaching staff and players as they prepare for upcoming fixtures: Miovski emphasized shared responsibility and urged the team to adjust its approach to create more chances.
