Moses Wright: I settled in well in Vienna, Skopje will be even better
American with a Macedonian passport scored 12 points in his debut and said the home game against Cyprus in November will bring energy.

On August 30, 2026 in Vienna, Moses Wright made his debut for the North Macedonia national basketball team, finishing the match with 12 points and a primary role on defence.
Debut and defensive duties
Wright, an American who holds a Macedonian passport, said the win was important but that the team can improve in ball security and concentration after taking the lead.
"I think it's always great to win, but we had a few too many turnovers and we relaxed a bit after taking the lead, but overall, we got the job done. I feel I settled in very well. I feel that we probably lacked one big athletic player and I brought energy by playing aggressively, and much of the defense was focused on me, which also opened up a lot of our shooters," Wright said.
The forward's presence added athleticism and created space for perimeter shooters as opponents adjusted their defence to him. Coaches and teammates noted his intensity on the boards and on the closeouts.
Looking ahead to the November home fixture against Cyprus in Skopje, Wright stressed the advantage of playing in front of a home crowd.
"I think, I have a feeling that everyone in the Macedonian national team played against a physically good team, so we know what to expect when it comes to physical readiness, but we're playing in Skopje, right? In November. So, it will be a great home game, home crowd, so it will bring energy," he added.
