Musliu pleased with draw — Sint‑Truiden to face Ajax and five other teams
The North Macedonia international described the group as “interesting” and said he is eager for the season to begin.
Visar Musliu and his club Sint-Truiden learned their opponents for the main phase of the UEFA Conference League on 28.08.2026, and the Macedonian defender said he is happy with the draw.
“We got an interesting group with quality teams among which the legendary Ajax. We know it won't be easy at this level, but I'm looking forward to the season starting,” Musliu said.
Group opponents and a domestic subplot
Sint-Truiden will meet Ajax along with Mjällby, Brann, Lugano, Iberia and Hajduk in their group. The draw pits the Belgian side against a mix of clubs from across Europe, presenting a varied set of challenges.
The fixture with Lugano is singled out as a personal duel for Musliu: the match will see him on one side and Alioski on the other, creating a Macedonian angle to at least one group game.
Musliu expressed optimism that the group will deliver an attractive European autumn for Sint-Truiden and welcomed the opportunity to test the team at this level.
Preparations now turn to the competitive phase, with the club aiming to use the draw as motivation heading into the new season.
