Ministry of Internal Affairs: 12 drivers detained for "reckless operation of a vehicle" — seven without licences, one minor
Police say 12 drivers were detained nationwide; seven had no licence and one was a minor, while others faced alcohol-related charges or driving bans.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that police across the country detained 12 drivers in the last 24 hours on suspicion of the criminal offence "reckless operation of a vehicle."
Details of the detentions and alleged offences
According to the ministry, seven of the detained individuals were driving without a valid driving licence; among those seven was one minor. The ministry also noted that one of the detained drivers was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
In addition to those cases, police recorded three other drivers who operated vehicles while intoxicated and two drivers who were behind the wheel despite having an active ban on driving.
Authorities said that, after the incidents are fully documented, appropriate criminal charges will be filed against the suspects.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs appealed to all road users to strictly obey traffic rules and regulations: not to drive without a passed driving exam, not to operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and not to drive during an imposed ban.
"With responsible behaviour we all contribute to greater traffic safety," the ministry added.
