The Department for Internal Control charged six people, including a junior adviser, over alleged manipulation of electronic records and illegal addition of licence categories.

The Department for Internal Control at the Ministry of Interior has filed a criminal complaint with the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Skopje against six people, including an employee of the ministry, on suspicion of forging driving licences.
The ministry employee worked as a junior adviser for travel documents in the Administrative Affairs Department in Skopje and is suspected of illegally altering data in the electronic system and adding driving categories for which applicants did not meet the legal requirements.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the alleged actions were carried out from the beginning of 2025 until 24 August 2026.
How the alleged scheme worked
Investigators say the accused used her access code to approve applications and thereby enabled the issuance of licences with illegally added categories. One of the reported individuals is alleged to have used a licence with an unlawfully added category "A" to operate a motorcycle and to have crossed the state border with it.
The ministry states that criminal charges were filed against five of the other reported persons for forging documents, and against one person for use of a document with untrue content. The employee will also face disciplinary proceedings and has been suspended from work until the disciplinary procedure is completed, the Ministry of Interior said.
