Winter time in North Macedonia begins on October 25, 2026, when clocks must be set back one hour. At 03:00 the time will be counted as 02:00.

The Government adopted a Decision establishing the timekeeping schedule for 2026; the same Decision states that summer time began on March 29, 2026, and that winter time will start on October 25, 2026. The Decision was published in the Official Gazette on March 19 this year.

"The adoption of this Decision is in accordance with the established annual practice for regulating timekeeping, as well as with the obligations to align with European legislation in this area," the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources said.

How it will affect clocks

In practical terms, at 03:00 on October 25 devices and analog watches should be turned back one hour so that the displayed time reads 02:00. The Government procedure follows the regular yearly routine for switching between summer and winter time.

The ministry framed the move as both routine and part of compliance with European rules in the field of time regulation.
