Trump is tired of clock changes: "Fix this once and for all"
Trump urged the Senate to quickly pass a bill that would make daylight saving time permanent.

U.S. President Donald Trump urged the American Senate to urgently vote on a law that would abolish the clock changes between daylight saving time and standard time, announcing it via his platform, Truth Social.
Trump urged action after the vote in the House of Representatives
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the Senate "must vote as soon as possible on the Bill to End Clock Changes" and that the change would lead to "more daylight later in the day."
"The Senate must vote as soon as possible on the Bill to End Clock Changes. More daylight later in the day is better, including for the fight against crime! But, more importantly — enough of this absurd clock changing twice a year, with all the disruptions and chaos it causes. Fix this once and for all," wrote the American president.
The proposed bill was already adopted by the House of Representatives with 308 votes "for" and 117 "against." It envisions daylight saving time remaining permanent, instead of the clocks being set back one hour every fall.
In another post on Truth Social on Wednesday, Trump wrote: "For years a large majority of Americans have asked for daylight saving time to become permanent, but no administration has succeeded in properly implementing that, until now. I proudly announce that the House of Representatives has passed the bill and that it is now sent to the Senate for final approval."
For the measure to become law, it will need support in the Senate; if the Senate does not act, the current practice of changing the clocks twice a year will remain in force.
