Assembly schedules oversight hearing on Alta Bank for 11 November 2026

The Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia has scheduled an oversight hearing into events at Alta Bank for Wednesday, 11 November 2026, at 11:00, the chair of the parliamentary Committee on Finance and Budget, Sanja Lukarevska, confirmed.

Procedure and deadlines

Lukarevska said the date was set in line with legal and procedural requirements that govern the timing of oversight debates. Parliamentary groups have been given a short deadline: they must submit the names of witnesses to be invited and heard during the session by the close of business tomorrow.

The hearing will focus on recent developments at Alta Bank and their impact on citizens, with MPs expected to call representatives, experts and any other individuals deemed relevant to testify.

Earlier, the ruling party VMRO-DPMNE had requested that the debate be held as soon as possible — even proposing that it take place tomorrow — citing the urgency of the situation for affected citizens. The committee opted for the 11 November date to meet statutory scheduling requirements while allowing time to assemble witnesses.

The Assembly committee will convene on that date at 11:00 in the parliamentary premises; further procedural details and the list of summoned witnesses will be published after parliamentary groups submit their proposals.
