Most rainfall in Kriva Palanka; local storms possible again this afternoon
UHMR measured 30 l/m2 in Kriva Palanka; afternoon local showers and thunderstorms remain possible.

After a series of local storms overnight, the largest recorded rainfall amount was measured in Kriva Palanka — 30 liters per square metre, the Hydrometeorological Service (UHMR) reported. The observation was published on 30 August, 2026 10:07.
Measured totals from the network included 18 l/m2 in Strumica, 13 in Vinica, 8 in Berovo, 6 in Topolchani, 3 in Bitola and 1 in both Radovish and Krusevo.
Local variability means some places saw much more
UHMR underlined that because of the localised nature of the storm cells the recorded accumulation can vary greatly over short distances, and in some spots the amount of precipitation may be considerably higher than the measured values.
For the remainder of the day the forecast calls for sunny and warm conditions with low to moderate local cloudiness. There will be places with conditions for local instability accompanied by heavy rain showers, thunder and gusty wind. A light to moderate southeast wind is expected.
Maximum temperatures across the country are forecast in the range of 29 to 36 °C. In Skopje the day will be sunny and warm with light to moderate southerly wind and a maximum around 36 °C.
