Assailant from a Strumica village arrested after pushing his 19-year-old son down stairs
A 51-year-old was arrested after his 19-year-old son suffered serious injuries when he was pushed down stairs; the prosecutor's office was notified and an investigation is underway.
Police this afternoon detained a 51-year-old resident of a Strumica village, after a prior complaint established that on 01.08.2026 he physically attacked his 19-year-old son and pushed him down stairs, whereupon the young man sustained serious injuries.

"On 06.08.2026 at 16:40 in a Strumica village, police officers from the Regional Police Department Strumica detained a 51-year-old resident of the village, acting on a prior complaint that on 01.08.2026 on the terrace of the family home he physically attacked his 19-year-old son and pushed him down stairs, who in the process sustained serious bodily injuries, confirmed at Strumica Medical Center. The person was held at the Strumica Police Station, and a public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office Strumica was notified. After documenting the case an appropriate complaint will be filed," the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
The police said the man was detained on 06.08.2026 at 16:40 and that they were acting on a prior complaint regarding the incident that occurred on 01.08.2026.
The injured 19-year-old was taken to Strumica Medical Center, where he was diagnosed with serious bodily injuries. The suspect is being held at the Strumica Police Station while further police procedures continue.
A public prosecutor at the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office Strumica has been notified, and the police state that after full documentation an appropriate complaint will be filed.
The investigation continues, and the authorities are working to determine all circumstances surrounding the incident and the sequence of events on the terrace of the family home.
