Heavy rain floods Istanbul streets and underpasses
Emergency crews pulled a driver and a child from a submerged car as heavy rain left streets and underpasses flooded.

Heavy downpours hit Istanbul today, turning many streets into shallow lakes and leaving a number of vehicles stranded in rising water.
Emergency crews reported that after an underpass flooded they were able to pull a driver and a child from a submerged vehicle. Ambulance teams carried out the rescue amid rapidly rising water levels.
Water discolouration and weather changes
Turkish television station TRT Haber said the Bosphorus took on two distinct colours after the torrents washed mud into the strait.
The Disaster Coordination Center warned of strong northerly winds and reported a fall in air temperature of 12 degrees following the storm.
Istanbul had already faced severe flooding on 14 October when heavy rain killed six people. Authorities said they are monitoring the situation and working to clear flooded roads and underpasses as traffic disruptions continue.
