Low-cost Fly2Galicia to launch December 1 with fares from €19 and hand luggage included

A new low-cost carrier named Fly2Galicia plans to begin operations on December 1 and will base itself at Santiago de Compostela airport in northwestern Spain, offering one-way fares from as little as €19.

Routes, frequencies and initial network

At launch the carrier intends to connect Santiago de Compostela with eight destinations across Spain and Europe. International services are expected to include Brussels, Munich, Milan, Prague and Venice, while domestic Spanish routes are planned to Granada, Alicante and Zaragoza. The initial schedule foresees a total of 17 weekly departures, a pattern that the airline says will remain in place until October 2027, when the network will be reviewed.

Price points are being touted as a key advantage: one-way tickets for domestic destinations will start at €19. Tickets to Milan and Brussels are reported to begin at €39, while flights to Munich, Prague and Venice are expected to be priced from €49. Notably, one piece of hand luggage will be included in the ticket price: passengers may bring one personal item and one piece of carry-on luggage with a maximum weight of eight kilograms at no extra cost.

Fly2Galicia will not hold its own air operator certificate (AOC) and reportedly does not plan to apply for one. Instead, flight operations are to be handled by the Romanian carrier Flajuan, which will provide aircraft and crew. Fly2Galicia will be responsible for branding, route planning, marketing and ticket sales, making the setup effectively a virtual airline model.

The initial fleet plan calls for the operation of an Airbus A320 with a capacity of up to 190 passengers. Media reports indicate a second aircraft could join the operation in summer 2027.

If its plans proceed, the newcomer will add another option for travel between Galicia and several larger European cities and could raise competition among low-cost carriers on overlapping routes. It remains to be seen how Fly2Galicia will expand its network after the launch period and whether the low introductory fares will attract large numbers of travelers.
