At least two killed in new Russian attacks as nine remain missing after shopping mall strike

At least two people were killed in fresh Russian attacks in Ukraine, while nine remain listed as missing one day after a double strike on a shopping mall that left 16 people dead.

Officials said a blaze at a warehouse in Kyiv — which broke out after a ballistic missile alert — claimed one life, and a separate drone strike in Zaporizhzhia in the early morning hours on Saturday killed another person.

Rescue teams are still searching for nine people who vanished following the previous day’s twin attack on the shopping centre, where emergency services have confirmed 16 fatalities so far.

The incidents add to a series of recent strikes that have hit civilian sites and logistics facilities across different parts of Ukraine, complicating relief and recovery efforts in affected areas.

Local authorities continue to manage firefighting and search operations, and investigators are documenting damage and collecting evidence at the scene of each attack.

The security situation remains tense as families await news of missing relatives and emergency services work to stabilise damaged buildings and care for survivors.
