RTS editorial board reads apology on-air; students in blockade demand resignations
The new RTS editorial board read a statement on Dnevnik 2 apologising for omissions; students in blockade say they will accept only resignations.

The newly formed editorial board of Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) read an apology to viewers on the evening news and described the statement as “the first measure of apology” and a step toward restoring public trust.
“Dear viewers, these are the first steps toward, we hope, the recovery of RTS. The first measure of apology for all who were excluded in the previous period. We face work on programme content in the public interest. We want to restore your trust,” the message said, read out during the central Dnevnik 2 bulletin.
Students on X reject apology and repeat calls for resignations
Students involved in a blockade responded on the social network X (formerly Twitter), saying they do not accept an apology and are maintaining their demand for resignations. “We do not accept an apology. We accept only resignations,” they wrote.
The students’ post, published under the handle @studentblokade, appeared on October 29, 2026. Their reaction follows recent changes in the news editorial structure at RTS, when several editors were replaced — including editors of the central Dnevnik bulletin.
Student protesters had earlier publicly demanded resignations from the management and the editors they hold responsible. The new editorial board presented the broadcast apology as an initial step, but the students say only resignations will satisfy their demands.
