Direct Skopje–Tivat flight from May 1, will operate twice weekly
From May 1 a twice-weekly direct Skopje–Tivat service will begin; authorities expect growth in passengers, tourism and business.

A new direct air link between Skopje and Tivat will begin operating on May 1, with flights scheduled twice a week, government officials announced at a joint press conference.
Route, frequency and expected effects
Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski said the service aims to raise passenger numbers and strengthen tourism and business ties between North Macedonia and Montenegro.
“What we discussed 20 days ago during our visit to Montenegro is being realized. I hope this route will seriously contribute to an increase in passenger numbers, as well as growth in tourism and business,” Nikoloski said.
Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović said stronger connectivity should be measured not only by political relations but also by economic accessibility and people-to-people and company cooperation.
“The connection between states should not be measured only by political relations, but also by the accessibility of economies and opportunities for cooperation between citizens and companies. We believe that this connection with Skopje will contribute to the development of the economies of both countries,” Ivanović said. He added: “This can be considered only the beginning. We need to see how this route goes and then, depending on the results, we can discuss other routes in the future.”
Officials said negotiations with the carrier Air Montenegro continue for two additional possible routes: Tivat–Ohrid and a direct Skopje–Podgorica service. As part of efforts to deepen economic ties, a business forum bringing companies from both countries is planned for next year.
