Tivat–Skopje direct flights to start on 1 May
Service between Tivat and Skopje begins 1 May; Skopje–Podgorica and Tivat–Ohrid are being considered.

Direct flights between Tivat (Montenegro) and Skopje will begin on 1 May, operating twice a week at launch, the Macedonian government announced. Officials said they are also weighing two additional links: Skopje–Podgorica and Tivat–Ohrid.
Governments expect passenger and tourism growth
Authorities from both countries said the new direct connection is intended to raise passenger numbers and stimulate tourism and economic ties. The initiative originated during a recent visit by the Macedonian vice prime minister to Montenegro.
Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski described the launch as a concrete outcome of talks held roughly 20 days earlier. "What we discussed 20 days ago during our visit to Montenegro is being realized. I hope this route will seriously contribute to increasing the number of passengers, as well as boosting tourism and business. I hope many people will use this route," he said.
Nikoloski added that this will be the first air link with Montenegro and said the conditions make it possible to establish the other two lines in the near future.
Montenegrin Vice Prime Minister Filip Ivanović emphasized that the political will of both governments made the direct connection possible, but that airlines will now assess commercial viability. "It was the political will of both governments to establish a direct air connection, and now it is up to the airlines to see the commercial interest in it. This is just the beginning, let's see how it goes, but I am sure we will discuss the other routes as well," he said.
Officials framed the new service as part of broader efforts to strengthen transport links and encourage reciprocal travel and business activity between North Macedonia and Montenegro.
