Ohrid declares car-free day tomorrow; bicycle parade 11:00–13:00
Part of European Mobility Week (21–27 September); the municipality urges residents to leave cars at home.
Ohrid Municipality has declared tomorrow a "Car-Free Day" as part of European Mobility Week, observed from 21 to 27 September. This year’s theme is "Intergenerational fairness."
Bicycle parade along the city quay
In cooperation with SVR Ohrid, the local government will hold a bicycle parade along the city traffic arteries. Organizers say the event aims to promote sustainable travel and cleaner air.
The parade is scheduled from 11:00 to 13:00, starting at the Macedonia Quay in front of Hotel Palas. The route continues along the Macedonia Quay, proceeds down ASNOM Street to the intersection with Partizanska Street, then follows Partizanska to the junction with Kuzman Josifovski Street before finishing back at the Macedonia Quay.
The Municipality invited residents to join the action en masse and to try to go to work at least one day a year without using a car.
In a statement the Municipality of Ohrid said: "On Tuesday leave your car at home and enjoy cycling, scootering or walking, knowing that you will make the right move to preserve clean air and a clean environment."
