Viktor Orban photographed at villa in Opatija visiting sister of Peter Magyar
Photographs and flight-tracking records place the former premier at a villa linked to Ana Magyar; the private Pilatus jet traced from Budapest to Rijeka.
Former Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban was seen at a villa in Opatija, Croatia, in the company of Ana Magyar, according to recent reports. Photographs published after the meeting show Orban at the same location where he reportedly vacationed three years ago.
The images were taken last night and — observers note — show Orban wearing the same shirt he wore on the island of Vis in 2024. The villa is identified as belonging to Ana Magyar, who is the daughter of Maria Schmit and the sister of Peter Magyar.
Flight movements and ownership
Data from Flightradar indicate that two days ago a private Pilatus aircraft departed Budapest and landed in Rijeka. The plane is registered to Ana Magyar, or more precisely to the main company of the Schmit–Magyar family, and was reportedly used by Orban for a trip to Croatia in 2025 as well.
When the earlier visit became public, Maria Schmit said: "Orban was a guest at their home because they have been friends for 30 years." The remark was offered after photographers and observers identified the location as connected to the Schmit–Magyar family.
The new photographs come amid a tense political moment: Orban has recently urged his supporters to resist what he called the "the 'tyranny' of Hungarian prime minister Magyar." The images and the flight-tracking data have raised questions about hospitality, past ties and the optics of prominent politicians traveling together.
