The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecuting Organised Crime and Corruption said it found no grounds for criminal prosecution in the public procurements related to the 19 modular hospitals, closing a case that was opened after the 2021 fire at the modular COVID centre in Tetovo. VMRO-DPMNE accused the decision by the prosecutor’s office of being “the last atom of strength of the previous government,” framing the move as political theatre by those linked to the former administration. The opposition also charged the current authorities with neglecting grape growers in the Tikvesh region and announced a package of draft laws aimed at improving conditions for viticulture.
