Five detained after assault at family celebration in Broštica; victim from Mogorche hospitalized
Five residents of Broštica were detained after a fight at a village celebration; the victim from Mogorche was treated in Debar.
Five people from the village of Broštica in the Centar Župa municipality were arrested after a physical attack at a family celebration that left a 28‑year‑old man from Mogorche hospitalized, police said.
"Today at 00:20 police officers detained A.V.(19), N.V.(53), A.V.(50), S.V.(32) and R.N.(19), all from the village of Broštica, Centar Župa," the Sector for Internal Affairs – Ohrid said.
The arrests followed an earlier notification from a doctor at the General Hospital with Extended Activity in Debar that S.R.(28) from Mogorche had been admitted with injuries.
Investigation under way
"Following measures taken, it was established that at a family celebration in Broštica, after a prior misunderstanding, S.R. was physically attacked by A.V., N.V., A.V. and S.V.," the Sector for Internal Affairs – Ohrid added.
Police also recorded that A.V.(19) reported he had been physically attacked by R.N., the authorities said. The case remains under investigation and, once fully clarified, the competent bodies will file the appropriate charges.
