Peugeot and Jeep to adopt Chinese Momenta technology for assisted driving
Momenta and Dongfeng‑Stellantis will jointly develop assisted‑driving systems for upcoming Peugeot and Jeep models to be sold in China, Europe and beyond.
Peugeot and Jeep will integrate Chinese software for advanced assisted‑driving functions through a new global partnership between Momenta and the Dongfeng‑Stellantis joint company based in Wuhan.
Scope and markets
The agreement covers joint development of an advanced assisted‑driving system tailored for upcoming serial models from both Peugeot and Jeep. The partners plan to deploy the technology in vehicles sold in China, Europe and other international markets.
Peugeot and Jeep will take part in defining and adapting the new features so the systems match each brand's characteristics and market positioning. The collaboration comes amid intensifying competition between European and Chinese automakers over software, electric vehicles and smart‑driving technologies.
Stellantis formed a joint company with the Chinese group Dongfeng in August 2026 as part of efforts to strengthen the group's position on the Chinese market and better compete with local manufacturers. The new deal brings Momenta into that framework through its strategic global partnership with Dongfeng Stellantis Automotive Technology of Wuhan.
Momenta, which develops software for autonomous and assisted driving, says its driver‑assistance software is already used in more than 1.2 million vehicles on the road. Until recently the company had mainly cooperated with German premium manufacturers, and the agreement extends Momenta's work with major global car brands.
