Champions League winner can earn €850,000
European Handball Federation raised the 2026/27 prize pool — champion to receive €500,000 from the final tournament.
The winner of the men's EHF Champions League in the 2026/27 season can earn up to €850,000 after the European Handball Federation increased the competition's prize pool.
How the money is distributed
Clubs will receive €10,000 for each group-stage match, plus an additional €5,000 for every point earned. In the following phase the per-match payments remain the same, but each point will be worth €6,250.
Quarterfinal results also carry direct payments: a victory will be worth €15,000 and a draw €7,500. The largest rise in rewards comes at the final tournament, where the champion will receive €500,000.
Last season's title-holder Barcelona collected €638,000 in prize money, while the maximum possible haul under last season's scheme was €648,000.
For context, the second-tier EHF European League awards a maximum of €160,000 to its winner.
The changes apply to the 2026/27 Champions League and mean clubs that progress deep into the competition stand to increase their tournament revenue significantly.
