Fire near Prilep railway contained, no danger to Komunalec facilities
Blaze at the utility’s service yard was controlled after intervention by Prilep fire crews and Komunalec staff.

A fire that broke out this afternoon around 3:00 p.m. alongside the railway on the outskirts of Prilep has been brought under control, the municipal utility reported.
The blaze affected a small area next to the tracks near the service yard of Public Enterprise Komunalec, but rapid response prevented any risk to the waste-sorting plateau and the utility’s buildings.
Fire crews and utility teams fought the blaze
Teams from the Territorial Firefighting Unit of Prilep arrived with several fire engines to fight the fire. Employees of Public Enterprise Komunalec also joined the operation with water tankers and construction machinery.
Initial information from the municipality’s utility indicates the fire was confined to a limited portion of the service yard, exclusively along the railway line.
According to eyewitness reports, the fire started immediately after a train passed on the Prilep–Bitola route. No injuries were reported and there is no danger to Komunalec’s facilities, the utility said.
