Initiative filed with REM to revoke Informer TV’s broadcasting licence
Slavko Ćuruvija Foundation and 32 organisations asked REM to start proceedings a day after a citizen incursion at the Informer building.

An initiative was submitted to the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media (REM) to begin proceedings to revoke the broadcasting licence of Informer TV, citing long‑standing breaches of media law and professional ethics and coordinated propaganda in favour of the current government.
The petitioners include the Slavko Ćuruvija Foundation and 32 media associations, civic organisations, professors and researchers from the universities of Belgrade, Novi Sad and Niš. They ask REM to open a formal procedure to examine Informer’s licence.
Allegations and timing
According to the initiative, the grounds are persistent violations of rules governing broadcasting, running campaigns against dissenting voices and producing partisan content that effectively serves the government’s interests. The filing came a day after a group of citizens entered the Informer building.
Informer has for years been described as one of Aleksandar Vučić’s main media allies, and the complaint frames the proposed licence revocation as a response to what the petitioners call systematic misuse of the broadcaster’s reach.
REM must now decide whether to accept the initiative and open a formal inquiry; if it does, the authority will assess evidence and determine whether the broadcaster breached licensing conditions to an extent that justifies licence withdrawal.
The move marks a rare collective push by media organisations, academics and civic groups to use regulatory mechanisms to challenge a prominent pro‑government outlet in Serbia.
