Police officer kills three relatives in Veliko Gradište, including 19-year-old daughter
Three relatives were killed and two wounded in a shooting in Veliko Gradište; investigators point to a longstanding inheritance dispute.

A police officer identified only as B. K. killed three members of his extended family in and around Veliko Gradište, wounded two others, and then took his own life, local authorities say.
Sequence and possible motive
The violence is reported to have stemmed from long-standing personal tensions and a property dispute over an inheritance. Investigators found a will at the scene showing that the deceased father had excluded B. K. from the inheritance.
According to preliminary information, the attack began inside the family home where B. K. first shot his sister, A. Ch. He then went to the house where she had been living with her family and there killed the son-in-law, S. Ch. (a firefighter), and their 19-year-old daughter, J. Ch. The mother of the son-in-law, also identified as S. Ch., was seriously wounded. After the shootings the attacker committed suicide.
"J. Ch. was a model girl, as was her whole family. She wouldn't have harmed a fly! We heard that her uncle called her to come home and then shot her," said a shocked acquaintance of the family.
Neighbours described the victims with respect: the father worked as a firefighter, his wife was a hairdresser and their daughter had been employed in the local shop. People in the area said the attacker had long been regarded as a problematic person and had been involved in a lengthy legal dispute with the father over property.
The bodies were handed over for autopsy and police together with the competent prosecutor's office carried out an on-site inspection.
