Police raid two Gostivar-area venues; 15 foreign women detained, drugs found
Police checked two venues in the Gostivar area; 15 foreign women were detained and marijuana was located at one address.
Early this morning the Gostivar police carried out targeted checks at two hospitality establishments in the region, during which 15 foreign female nationals were detained and two persons were taken into custody.
In a venue in Chegrane the police detained a 50-year-old resident of Forino. According to reports, after the police arrived he locked the entrance door and warned those present to run, after which officers blocked the back exit and prevented the escape of several foreign female nationals.
In another hospitality venue in the Galate area a 53-year-old Gostivar resident was detained; marijuana was found on him.
Details on the detained
A total of 15 women aged 19 to 40 were found in the two premises, citizens of Serbia, Albania and Colombia. They were detained for abusing tourist stays and for remaining contrary to the purpose of their visit.
All individuals are being held at a police station, and following full documentation of the case appropriate charges will be filed.
The operation was carried out early this morning on July 30, 2026, and according to the police is part of regular checks in the Gostivar area.
