Police officer arrested in Star Dojran over alleged attacks on woman and her minor son

A 35-year-old police officer from Resen was detained in Star Dojran on August 3, 2026 at about 4:00 a.m., after a report that he had physically attacked a woman with whom he was in a relationship and her minor son.
The incidents were reported to have taken place on August 1 and 2 in Star Dojran. The alleged victim is a 36-year-old woman from Prilep.
Detention and investigative steps
Police units from the Regional Police Directorate Strumica (SVR Strumica) and the Gevgelija Police Station (OVR Gevgelija) carried out the arrest, taking the suspect into custody around 4:00 a.m. on August 3, 2026. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has been notified and investigative actions are under way to clarify the circumstances.
A public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Gevgelija has been informed and is directing measures aimed at a full investigation. Prosecutors will decide on formal charges once the case dossier is complete.
The police have also informed the Department for Internal Control, Criminal Investigations and Professional Standards within the Ministry of Internal Affairs. After documentation of the events, appropriate criminal charges will be filed against the suspect.
