Heavy rain and thunderstorms expected, temperatures to fall
UHMR warns of localized storms with over 15 l/m², northwest gusts to 40 km/h; Tuesday and Thursday may bring renewed showers.
Weather across North Macedonia will be changeable and unstable today, with intermittent rain and locally more intense developments that can turn into storms producing heavy downpours of over 15 litres per square metre. Showers will be accompanied by thunder and gusty winds.
Wind, temperatures and local outlook
Winds will be moderate over most of the country, while along the Vardar valley they will occasionally strengthen from the northwest and reach speeds up to 40 kilometres per hour.
Morning temperatures are expected between 12 and 19 degrees Celsius, while daytime maximums will range from 27 to 33 degrees Celsius.
Similar conditions are forecast for the capital. In Skopje the sky will be changeable with occasional rain, and in parts of the basin precipitation may occur as storms accompanied by heavy rain, strong thunder and gusty wind. The minimum temperature in the capital is expected to fall to 19 degrees Celsius, while the daytime high will not exceed 26 degrees Celsius.
The Hydrometeorological Service (UHMR) notes that daily temperatures will generally be falling. Meteorologists also announce that on Tuesday and Thursday some places may once again see conditions favourable for occasional rain.
During the following days the situation should stabilise, but periodic showers are still possible in places.
