Special traffic regime in Skopje for Zadušnica

A special traffic regime will be introduced in Skopje on November 7, 2026, because of the religious holiday Zadušnica, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced. Measures start at 6:00 a.m. to ensure safe and uninterrupted movement toward the city cemeteries.

Route organisation and timing

The Unit for Road Traffic Safety at the Skopje Police Department will implement traffic measures beginning at 6:00 a.m. on November 7. Officers will direct vehicles along predetermined one‑way routes to reduce congestion near cemetery entrances.

Traffic toward the Butel city cemetery will be arranged as a circular one‑way flow. Incoming vehicles will follow Butelska Street, turn left onto Aleksandar Urdarevski, then left onto Boca Ivanova and make a right to the cemetery entrance.

For departures from the cemetery drivers will turn right onto Boca Ivanova to the roundabout with Butelska, then turn left on Butelska and right onto Kemal Sejfula Street.

Authorities said the same special traffic regime will also be applied at the Kamnik, Drachevo and Gjorche Petrov cemeteries.

The Ministry appealed to citizens to obey the orders and directions given by police officers on streets covered by the special regime to ensure traffic safety and smooth circulation.
