The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) announced that parts of central Skopje will be under a temporary traffic regime on 23 October. The measures are in place because an athletic event, called "Athletic Track 23 October", will be held starting at 08:00.

Route and restrictions

The run will begin at Žena Borec Park on 11 October Street, opposite the Assembly building, and proceed toward Macedonia Square via the Stone Bridge. Runners will then turn left onto Iljo Vojvoda Street, continue along the sidewalk of the Goce Delčev Bridge, and follow the Vardar river quay to a marked point. Participants will return along the same route to finish in front of the "Founders of IMRO" monument in Žena Borec Park.

Within its operational measures, the MIA's Road Traffic Safety Unit will redirect vehicles onto surrounding streets while the race is underway. Drivers should expect lane closures and temporary detours in the city centre during the morning hours.

The ministry urged residents and visitors to obey the directions given by police officers who will be managing traffic along the route. Organisers of the event are listed as Athletic Club.

Authorities warned that delays are possible on arterial roads near the Assembly, Macedonia Square and the Vardar river embankments and recommended using alternative routes where possible.
