Fire at Lake Garda campsite injures 24, seven hospitalized

A fire broke out today at the "Bella Italia" campsite near Lake Garda, injuring 24 people; several victims were taken to hospital for treatment.
One person suffered severe burns to a leg, and multiple people received care for carbon monoxide poisoning. The cause of the blaze at the Bella Italia site in Peschiera del Garda is unknown.
Firefighting and response
Firefighters said the fire was brought under control quickly, but explosions of gas canisters complicated extinguishing efforts. Rescue service officials reported that seven people were taken to hospital, including a Swiss family with three children.
Emergency teams treated a number of injured at the scene before transporting the most seriously affected to nearby medical facilities. Authorities continue to investigate how the blaze started.
No official cause has been announced and local emergency services are asking witnesses to come forward with any information that could help the inquiry.
