With today's working session of the Council of Ambassadors, at which the Speaker of the Assembly, Afrim Gashi, spoke, members of parliament formally return to the parliamentary benches after the August recess.

The first new plenary session is scheduled for September 2 and will be the 121st session of the Assembly.

What is on the agenda

At the 121st session, scheduled for September 2, 53 items are listed on the agenda, including the appointment of a vice governor of the National Bank, ratifications, and a draft law on notification and screening of foreign direct investments in the first reading.

Also among the items is a draft national strategy for road traffic safety 2026–2030, as well as a number of laws by shortened procedure, mainly to align with the new Law on Senior Executives.

On the Assembly's website on August 25 two meetings were announced for the Speaker of the Assembly, Afrim Gashi, with the Turkish Ambassador Fatih Ulusoy and with the UN Resident Coordinator Rita Kolumbija. Gashi's Cabinet says that he was continuously at work even though MPs were officially on vacation.

The Assembly's regular summer recess began on August 1, despite some MPs having activities related to the state holiday Ilinden on August 2.
